If you successfully pass the Physical Assessments you will be invited to attend an interview. This will be our chance to get to know more about you.

The questions you are asked during the interview will be based on the Brigade’s Values and Behaviour Framework. The aim of the interviews is to explore how you have demonstrated specific behaviours in your previous roles (paid or voluntary) and your approach to problems, tasks and challenges.

The interview will be conducted with two people; one will ask you predetermined questions about your experience, the other will make thorough notes to ensure that a record is kept of all the examples you give which will then be used as part of the marking process.

Your interview may last up to 1 hour. Some examples of the type of interview question you may be asked are:

“Give me an example of how you have taken responsibility for your own actions”

“Tell me about a time when you have acted with sensitivity to someone’s feelings or wellbeing”

“Give me an example of when your colleagues or team mates have learnt from you”
