A woman has sadly died after being rescued from a flat fire in Stockton.
On Monday 14th October at 21.07pm our Fire Control received a 999-call reporting a fire on the first floor of a flat on Carlile Walk in Stockton.
Three fire engines from Stockton and Thornaby were dispatched to the scene, with the first arriving in five minutes.
Our firefighters immediately entered the property using breathing apparatus equipment and rescued the resident from the fire.
Tragically despite our crews’ best efforts, the woman sadly passed away.
We can confirm no one else was rescued from the property, however a firefighter suffered a burn to the back of their neck and received treatment on scene.
The cause of the incident is currently being investigated.
It is with great sadness that we share this update, and our thoughts are with the woman’s family during this difficult time.
