The Fire Cadets programme is a fun, free uniformed youth organisation where you can learn how the fire service operates and its role in keeping the community safe. You will develop lifelong skills, make new friends and make a positive difference in a safe and supportive environment.

About the Programme:

  • A two year course with weekly sessions.
  • An opportunity to learn about and experience life in the fire service.
  • Achieve a BTEC Level 2 in Fire and Rescue Services in the Community qualification.
  • Make friends, learn new skills and have lots of fun along the way!

Do you live within Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland or Stockton-on-Tees?


We’re recruiting enthusiastic individuals to be part of our next Fire Cadets cohort.

What you need to know

Where: Middlesbrough Community Fire Station, 115 Park Road South, Middlesbrough, TS5 6LG.

Own transport required: all participants must be able to get to the station independently.

When: Starting Wednesday 22 April 2026.
Sessions will then take place every Wednesday from 5:00pm–7:00pm, please note this is during term time only.

Applications must be submitted by 11:59pm on Friday 6 March. The form must be completed by a parent or guardian. We aim to let applicants know if they have been selected for an interview by Friday 13 March 2026. Timing may vary depending on the number of applications.

Interviews are expected to take place between Monday 23 and Thursday 26 March 2026.
