Fire Kills – you can prevent it

Did you know?

• Half of accidental house fires in Cleveland start in the kitchen which makes this the most dangerous room in your home.

• More people die in fires caused by smoking products than in fires caused by anything else. Last year in Cleveland Last 18 fires were caused by smoking materials which resulted in seven casualties and one fatality.

• Around half of all deaths caused by fires in the home happen between 10pm and 8am so planning your escape route is vital.

• Electrical appliances, plugs and cables that are old or poorly wired can be a real danger. Just because there’s no flame does not mean there’s no fire risk.

• Candles, decorative lights and decorations are a growing cause of fires in the home.
