Community safety our priority

Cleveland Fire Brigade’s number one priority is the safety of our communities.  We are committed to following the latest Government and Public Health England advice and guidance to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

We want to reassure the public that during this pandemic we are continually reviewing the situation and our services. We will respond to emergency calls as normal and continue to provide safety advice and prevention services to those most at risk. The health, safety and wellbeing of our communities, our staff, our partners and suppliers are of paramount importance.

Over the last few week’s we have tested and developed our business continuity plans to ensure that we continue to maintain our high levels of service to protect our communities. We have appropriate plans in place to ensure our emergency response services are maintained.  In the event of an emergency, rest assured that our fire engines and crews will continue to respond should you require us.

During this difficult time, our firefighters and staff are working tirelessly to giving the community the help they need and we’re absolutely committed to keeping essential fire and rescue services going and doing more where we can. We’re still delivering essential prevention, protection and emergency response services, although the way we do things is going to be very different.

We have modified some of our services, for example delivery of educational services will temporarily be reduced to protect both our staff and our communities.  And some of our business fire safety activities are being adapted to minimise contact, whilst continuing to ensure public safety.

We are asking for the support of our communities in taking extra precautions during these longer periods in the home.  For home fire safety advice and business fire safety information please visit our website or follow us on social media for regular updates.

We are and remain a ‘Can Do’ Fire and Rescue Service and we will do everything to protect the local community from fire or any other emergency incident.
