To support our current retained recruitment campaign we are offering potential candidates the opportunity to come along and find out more about becoming a retained firefighter.
Those attending will get the opportunity to chat to retained firefighters about their roles and take part in some ‘have-a-go’ activities.
Retained Roadshow: Drop-in at Drill Night
We have organised some additional evening sessions for those interested in becoming a retained firefighter, pop along to a drill-night and talk to the crew working at that station about their experiences and what’s involved.
Please note: Guisborough station is currently closed for refurbishment so if you are interested in working there please come along to Skelton or Saltburn sessions.

If you have any queries please contact us on 01429 874019. More information about becoming a Retained Firefighter is available here.
Retained firefighters are members of the community who are paid to provide an on-call service responding to emergency calls in the same way as full-time firefighters, using the same appliances and equipment, but who are ‘on call’ rather than at a fire station.
Retained firefighters have to respond and arrive within five minutes of the station during their hours of declared availability. They respond via a pager system. No previous experience is required as comprehensive training is provided.
