STATION MANAGER
The Station Manager at Grangetown is Frank Sweeney.  Frank lives locally and started his Fire Service career as a Fire Fighter at Grangetown Fire Station in 1978. He has served most of his career on Fire Stations, and also served as a Breathing Apparatus Instructor at the Brigades Learning & Development Centre, plus a four year secondment at the Fire Service College in Gloucester as a Road Traffic Collision and Fire behaviour Instructor.

Appliances & Personnel
Grangetown Fire Station has two modern fire appliances staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by highly trained professional Fire Fighters. The Station has 4 watches each with 13 staff, each watch is run by a Watch Manager.  The station also has a Mercedes-Benz Unimog off road vehicle which is used for off road incidents primarily Eston Hill.  This vehicle is staffed when required.

HOME FIRE SAFETY Visit (HFSV)
 
Every home in Cleveland  is eligible to apply for FREE Home Fire Safety Visit.  This will involve a 20/30 minute visit to your home by your local Fire Fighters.  The visit will include the fitting of FREE smoke alarms and raise the awareness of potential fire hazards, a 'fire plan' will be discussed so that everyone in the house will know how to react if a fire occurs. 
 
These Home Fire Safety Visits are a vital element of Cleveland Fire Brigade's strategy to reduce accidental deaths, injuries and damage to property.  It is also aimed to reassure the community and help them feel safer in their homes. Why not tell your friends and family about this offer.
  
It could save your life; If you would like a FREE Home Fire Safety Visit just call (01642) 452345 or e-mail Grangetown Fire Station. The HFSV's will be carried out by Firefighters who will ALWAYS be dressed in uniform and will ALWAYS carry a Cleveland Fire Brigade Identification Card. There will also be a Fire Appliance nearby. NEVER let anyone into your house until you have seen their Identification Card, and if in doubt, ring your local Fire Station BEFORE letting anyone in.
     

SCHOOL VISITS
 
Grangetown Fire Station visits schools in our local area in order to interact with children at various levels; the visits include information on Fire Safety, the danger of playing with fire, and the danger of hoax calls. If you would like a visit call (01642) 452345 or e-mail Grangetown Fire Station

ARSON AUDITS
 
Grangetown Fire Station , aim to prevent fires occurring one initiative used is to undertake an Arson Audit Inspection, this involves the crews looking at the potential fuel for a fire such as piles of rubbish, timber, empty houses etc.  We identify the problem and work with our local partners to remove the rubbish and board up the properties.  If you are aware of areas which have the potential to be targeted by an arsonist please let us know either ring Grangetown Fire Station on (01642) 452345 or e-mail. Grangetown Fire Station

FETES & GARDENS PARTIES
 
Grangetown Fire station is always happy to visit your garden party, fete or show to meet the community and deliver the Fire Safety message.  We are very busy in the summer months so book early to avoid disappointment.  Either contact the station (01642) 452345 or e-mail Grangetown Fire Station

RESIDENTS ASSOCIATIONS
 
We are happy to visit Residents associations to talk over the problems we are having in certain areas, listen to suggestions and answer any queries you may have. A call to the station (01642) 452345 or an e-mail will start the process
 
 
The Station covers the ward area's of Eston, Grangetown, Normanby, Ormesby, South Bank and Teesville from the Redcar & Cleveland District, and also North Ormesby and Brambles farm, Thorntree and Beckfields from the Middlesbrough District.
 
In addition to emergency response the Station also carries out a variety of prevention and protection measures to make the community safer, these can be from individuals to organised groups
 
The station has successfully ran to Community Fire safety Zone's in South Bank and Grangetown.
