The Station Manager at Middlesbrough is Steve Johnson. Steve joined Cleveland Fire Brigade in 1992. Since then he has served in a number of Operational posts at Stockton, Billingham and Hartlepool Fire Stations, as well as serving within Headquarters and Stockton Community Fire Safety Sections as the Team Manager, and also at Grangetown in the Learning and Development Centre as Deputy and Centre Manager.
Steve has introduced a number of successful safety initiatives into the community and received 2 awards for their effectiveness. He is keen to maintain this throughout Middlesbrough to enhance community safety.
Currently he is developing and managing the 'Whatever it Takes' initiative, covering the Gresham, University and Middlehaven wards. Key to this initiative is the Reduction of personal risks for all concerned. Home Fire Safety Checks and 10 year Smoke Alarm installation is provided FREE of charge, partner assistance and sponsorship will help provide Deep Fat Fryers, Fused Extension cables and other risk reduction items - to enable Chip pans and overloaded sockets to be removed from peoples' homes.
Slips, Trips and Falls assessments, Smoking Cessation, Healthy Eating and Home Fire Safety advice packs are a range of additional tools at our disposal to reduce risks even further.

APPLIANCES & PERSONNEL
Middlesbrough Fire Station has both standard fire
appliances and 1 specialised
appliance. These are staffed by 15 personnel per watch to include 1 Watch Manager and 3 Crew managers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by 4 watches.
