HOME FIRE SAFETY CHECKS (HFSC)
Everyone is eligible to apply for FREE Home Fire Safety Check to raise awareness of potential fire hazards and how to react if a blaze breaks out.
The checks are a crucial element of Cleveland Fire Brigade's strategy to reduce accidental deaths, injuries and damage to property to reassure people and make them feel safer in their homes.
Firefighters will carry out the checks as part of their normal duties, spending 30-45 minutes per check, or much less where people have already taken steps to improve safety.
The checks include looking to see if householders have smoke alarms. Where they are not fitted we will provide and fit them FREE OF CHARGE and assist people to develop fire plans, including identifying evacuation routes and actions to take in the event of a blaze.

The Firefighters will ALWAYS be dressed in uniform and will ALWAYS carry a Fire Brigade Identification Card. FETES & GARDEN PARTIES

SCHOOL VISITS
Yarm Fire Station visits schools in our area to educate children at various levels on Fire Safety, the danger of playing with fire, and the danger of hoax calls.
