Your station facilities:
We are always keen to welcome visitors to the Station, if you would like to come and see what your local station is like please contact us.
What we are doing in your area:
We attend a wide range of Community based activities which include Fetes, Residents’ Meetings and have recently opened a Young Firefighters Association Building adjacent to the Station. This is attended by 24 young people every week and continues for three years or until the individual is 17.
Little Dennis
Little Dennis is a miniature fire engine designed and built by an operational fire-fighter based in Hartlepool. In order to operate little Dennis station personnel devote much of their own spare time to ensuring its availability at certain community functions. Little Dennis is a favourite with the younger and smaller members of our community, it has won a number of awards for its innovation and fund raising efforts and has even been so successful through the country other brigades have recognised this success and followed its lead.
Little Dennis has its own web site for bookings all funds raised by Little Dennis at community events are directed towards the Fire Fighters Charity.
Partnership work
We understand and appreciate the significant benefits of effective Partnership working and as such work closely with many organisations to assist in delivering safety to the community which is our number one priority.
An example of some of the partnership working can be evidenced through the Safer Hartlepool Partnership, Primary Care Trust, Local Authority (various Departments) Princes Trust, LIFE, YFA, Residents Groups, Residential Social Landlords, Housing Associations and the College of Further Education to name a few.
Home Fire Safety Visits

Road Safety
In addition to home safety we are also committed to reducing the number of injuries and deaths from Road Traffic Collisions, we intend to achieve this by promoting many road safety issues to groups of School Leavers, New drivers, Road user business organisations and Motor Cycle groups. We are committed to attending and participating in the Local Authority Traffic Liaison Committee.
Staff at Stranton are trained in first aid in order to treat minor injuries to casualties some personnel however are also trained to BTLS level (Basic Trauma Life Support) and ITLS (Intensive Trauma Life Support). They are trained to use defibrillators for incidents when community members have suffered heart attacks. This training in life support is also offered to community groups.
