All landlords (except registered social housing providers) must comply with the regulations that came into force in October 2015.
Fit a smoke alarm on each floor of the premises
Fit a carbon monoxide alarm in rooms containing a solid fuel appliance
Check that the alarms are working at the start of each new tenancy.
Cleveland Fire Brigade has a limited number of smoke alarms it will fit and carbon monoxide detectors it will provide for relevant properties in the run up to the new regulations.

Failure to comply with the regulations could lead to penalties of up to £5,000.
Before filling in this form please ensure that you have informed your tenants and they have consented to staff from Cleveland Fire Brigade contacting them to arrange to visit them and fit smoke and carbon monoxide alarms where necessary.
