It's time to take action against fire and unacceptable behaviour in Middlesbrough...
Despite reducing deliberate fires by 30% the number of fires in Middlesbrough is still unacceptably high. People are still dying and being injured in fires. Families are suffering. Local businesses are being destroyed and it is because over 90% of our fires are caused by anti-social and nuisance behaviour. The problem is rooted in our most deprived areas.
We refuse to tolerate anti-social activity and the damaging effects it has on our communities.
What's needed is a new approach. Middlesbrough is our town and we can do much more than fight fires to keep you safe. It's time to take action and put our firefighters on the streets to make our communities safer, stronger and proud.
What we're doing...
Our committed approach to improving your safety by reducing the risks has enabled us to:-
- Do over 60,000 home fire safety checks

- Recapture the potential of disaffected youth
