Cleveland Fire Authority meet bi-monthly and set the Strategic Direction of the Authority.
The Policy Committee also meets bi-monthly and makes recommendations to the Cleveland Fire Authority on major strategic issues and policy formulation.
The Executive Committee meets on an ad hoc basis, to perform any function of the Fire Authority where an urgent decision is needed when it is not practicable to call a meeting of the Fire Authority.
The Audit and Governance Commitee meets quarterly to provide independent assurance of performance, risk management and associated control environments. It is also responsible for the scrutiny of financial and non-financial performance issues.
The Overview and Scrutiny Committee meetings bi-monthly to conduct scrutiny reviews in accordance with an approved work programme.
The Standards Committee meets bi-annually to advise the Authority on matters relating to standards and to provide advice, guidance and training on ethical issues.
