Some young people face an increased risk of fire due to their circumstances. We help them improve their home environment and reduce or remove some of the unnecessary risks they face.
Our Community Education Team works with local schools to teach children and young people the importance of fire safety. We even have an embedded firefighter working in a local school.
We also work with children and young people and their families individually promoting fire safety and the dangers of playing with fire. We encouraging them to improve their own safety which can often improve the quality of life of the whole community.
Our work in fire safety is often linked to drink and drugs as parents worry about their children experimenting with or getting invovled in drugs and binge drinking.
Organisations we work with includes local authorities, Cleveland Police, the Probation Service, The Prince's Trust, Safe in Tees Valley and many more who run programmes dealing with issues like citizenship and road safety for young people.
If you would like to know more about how we can work with children or young people please contact Helen Williams, Children and Young Person's Services Manager 01429 872311.
