The Cleveland area is becoming an increasingly diverse community, but language, cultural and religious barriers can increase the risk of certain communities to fire.
To ensure everyone has the same level of access to fire safety advice we:
- give advice in a wide variety of languages that reflect the cultural diversity of the area
- work with a range of organisations to serve the ethnic minority community
- work hard to ensure our workforce reflects our community by recruiting people from ethnic minorities.
Our community safety advocates work closely with ethnic minority groups and form links within the community. Through this we are also able to support a wide range of partners with their service delivery.
These advocates have strong links to local, regional and national community groups and leaders who are crucial for the effective delivery of fire safety and health and well being messages generally.
