People with drug and alcohol problems are at high risk from fire.
Our drug and alocohol community safety advocate works closely with agencies such as DISC (Developing Initiatives Supporting Communities), Vision and the Probation Service to help identify those who need help.
Those who are referred to us receive a Home Fire Safety Visit to assess their needs. Special equipment can be supplied, such as lockable cabinets to keep harmful medicines out of reach of young children.
Building trust with people who have issues around drug and alcohol is crucial. Once we have the trust of an individual, we work together to improve their quality of life through a wide range of services and programmes.
