Fire is a killer. The largest single cause of deaths and injuries from fire is accidental fires in the home. It makes sense therefore to prevent fires from occurring in the first place. By a combination of education and the introduction of fire safety measures, we can reduce the number of dwelling fires and reduce deaths, injuries and the obvious suffering that accompanies them.
Cleveland Fire Brigade is committed in its efforts to reduce the risks to the community it serves. By adopting a risk based approach we aim to target our resources to those most vulnerable in society and therefore where they will be most effective.
The Brigade realises that it cannot operate in isolation and is constantly seeking to establish partnerships with key organisations to improve its response.
