Cleveland Fire Brigade is hoping people across Teesside sing themselves safe this Christmas by putting together their own version of the song, the 12 days of Christmas but with a fire safety theme and sending in their videos of them singing it.
The idea is to start with ‘On the first day of Christmas Cleveland Fire Brigade said to me… then add a fire safety tip!
Fire Officers from the Brigade got together and did a video of their own to show the type of safety messages they were hoping people would include in their competition entry. To view their version go to www.clevelandfire.gov.uk/christmasvideo or you can view it on YouTube at Cleveland FB.
The competition is open till Monday 15th December when all competition videos need to be submitted. People can send in their entries by loading their videos to YouTube and pasting the link into the entry form which can be found at www.clevelandfire.gov.uk/christmasvideo . There is up to £500 worth of prizes to be won for the winning entries!
Phil Lancaster, Director of Community Protection said, “We want people to have fun this Christmas but also be safe. We thought we would get into the Christmas spirit and make our own video to give people an idea of the type of entry they could submit. We have done a shortened version as an example. We want people to have fun with it and they can get more ideas of safety tips to include by visiting www.clevelandfire.gov.uk/celebrate and clicking on our interactive house.”
Video competition entries will be used as part of the Christmas campaign to help keep people safe this Christmas and spread safety messages throughout the festive period.
