Cleveland Fire Brigade’s successful Prince’s Trust Team Programme has a new course starting on Monday 27 January and is looking for prospective young people who want to gain skills and work experience.
The free 12 week personal development course is open to 16-25 year olds living in the Redcar and East Cleveland area and would particularly suit those who have not yet reached their educational goals or currently unemployed. The programme can help open up opportunities by providing work experience, practical skills and qualifications.
Les Jones, Head of Community Safety said, “Our Prince’s Trust Course is a fantastic course that students can really benefit from, not only during the course but after.
“More than 70% of unemployed people who complete the programme go on to jobs, training or further education within three months, which is a fantastic result and shows that it can really change a young person’s life.
“The course is split into sections and includes helping to develop team working and communication skills, uncover hidden talents, help in making a post programme development plan such as a new CV and job searching, a week away at a residential activity centre, undertaking a project based in your local community as well as a chance to learn practical Fire Brigade skills such as hose running, ladders and search and rescue.
“It is truly an inspiring course for any individual and I would urge anyone who is interested to get in touch to find out more and sign up. Please contact 01642 777645 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to see what it can do for you.”
