Today Cleveland Fire Brigade has received notification that the industrial action due to take place on Saturday 19 October between 6.30pm and 11.30pm has now been called off. This decision is due to talks progressing between the Government and the Fire Brigades Union.
Ian Hayton, Chief Fire Office at Cleveland Fire Brigade said “I am happy that both sides are continuing talks in order to stave off any further industrial action at Cleveland and across the country, and I hope the talks come to a productive and successful conclusion.
“As always the safety of our communities is and always will be our number one priority and I can reassure the public that if any further action does take place, we will provide an emergency response throughout. We will respond to all emergency calls received.”
