Fire crews rescue foal

Fire crews were called out to help rescue a foal last Friday at 4.40pm, after it got trapped on an embankment in Lowlane, Stainton, Middlesbrough.

Appliances from Thornaby and Coulby Newham attended the scene and successfully released the foal from under some branches which were pinning it down.

Steve Walton, Redcar and Cleveland District Manager said, “Cleveland Fire Brigade receives calls to a wide variety of incidents, some of which are quite unusual. Although animal rescues are not part of our statutory work, any calls for assistance from the public are taken seriously and every effort to help will be made.”
