Coulby Newham residents to be offered fire safety advice

Volunteers from the Cleveland Fire Support Network will be in the Coulby Newham area of Middlesbrough offering residents the opportunity to have a free Home Fire safety Visit carried out by firefighters from their local fire station.

This is part of a full week of activities taking place 20th – 27th May  to promote fire safety and urge residents to have a free Home Fire Safety Visit. One of these visits is important as our firefighters will give you specific fire safety advice tailored to your family needs. The advice will help prevent a fire in your home and we will also help you plan an escape route if a fire does occur. Free smoke alarms will be supplied and fitted if needed.

During the week Cleveland Fire Brigade staff will also be speaking to elderly residents at Hollis Court on Thursday and Friday (26th and 27th) and young people at the Manor Youth Club on Friday 27 May.

Andy Witham, Coulby Newham Station Manager said: “We are targeting specific areas with a week of activity to help ensure the safety of our communities in their homes. If anyone would like us to carry out a Home Fire Safety Visit they can either come along to one of our events to sign up for one or contact us on 01429 874063.”
